Open Bag of Arga-Alive Sand Still Good

I have an OPENED bag of Arga-Alive sand that has been opened for more than a year. Is it safe to use in an established tank?

I'd say not unless you cook it and clean it very well. It will then be just plain old sand.

How would I cook it and clean it?

Right now, the water that was in the bag is all dried up.

Its not alive anymore if its dried up.
In that case, if you still want to use it as sand, I'd rinse it first to get rid of any dead bacteria that might cause a nominal ammonia spike.

No thanks! I got a major thumbs down when I wanted to buy Arga-Live Sand. After all the advise I've been given, I would be kicked off the site for using Arga-Dead.

With a good rinse this sand will be fine for use.
