Overflow

Hi anyone can give there opinion, or suggestion. I was wondering if I bye a regular tank can I plumb an external overflow. Or a predrilled tank is better that whats making me slow on deciding on tank . Also want have a yellow tang hear they need six inches swimming room any opinions advices. Cause so far all of you bin helpful with equipment to get and have. My planning a setup is slow I want to do it once and right, also should I bye both books, conscientious marine aquarist and the reef aquarium volume three.Thanks in advance

BUY a reef ready (drilled on the bottom) tank and yellow tangs definitely need a lot more than 6 inches of swimming room.

100% on the Reef Ready tank.. The hang on overflows eventually loose suction, and are not the best looking.
Yes, all tangs should have at least 6' long tanks for swimming laps.

Both books are good to have...
