Considering MH what bulb.

I am considering swithcing to mh . what fixture and bulb would be good for a 36 bow front?

not sure of the fixture, but I use a power compact. I switched from coralife 150w bulbs to ushio bulbs because they are a bit cheaper with no problems at all (knock on wood)

I have a marineland with ballasts inside the fixture, I use the phoniex 14k bulbs and I love the color. The fixture also has T5's in it as well. I believe the 36" will have 2 T5 instead of 4 in the 48" fixture.

i recommend if your doing a switch consider led ive been threw every light and the mh was the most expensive monthly bill went up over 200 a month no lie

That depends on what size fixture, how long you run the bulbs and what size bulbs. If you go to a 150 watt bulb your bill won't jump much at all. If you go to a 1000 watt bulb, well yea the bill will jump. If you're running 3 400 watt bulbs plus T5's then yea expect a jump.

I have Ai Sol blues just dont think the growth rate is there and the color.

If I am going to change leds I porb will go with the ai vega. I just hear and read that mhs and t5s have better groth rate and better for color.
