Hey all,
I just came back from a 4 week trip during which I had a relative take care of my tank. Not that I expected everything to be normal when I came back, but two of my corals (chalice and acropora frag) have turned full-on white.
I'm assuming that they have died, correct?
Should I remove them from the tank or will they dissolve calcium etc. into the water if I leave them (albeit in a graveyard heap)?
What's funny is that I checked the water parameters after I came back and everything was normal:
Temp: 79 deg F
Spec Grav: 1.026
Ph: 8.0
Nitrate: 10-20
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
Phosphates 0-0.25
dKH: 8
Calcium: 400-500
My relative claimed that the corals had just turned white over the last two days. Sounds odd, as they were doing well over a period of 3 months before that.
Regards,
Henrik
