I was away for awhile and my biocube was left on it's own for a period of time. Long story short it needed to be taken apart and cleaned up. The biocube itself is over 8 years old and with silicone caked up on one leaky corner and the recent disaster of my retrofitted LEDs falling onto the plastic splashguard and burning themselves and becoming unusable, I'm throwing the entire tank out and getting a picotope.
Ive rinsed out the aragonite but after all of these years it has turned dark. I was wondering if it was okay, basically safe to bleach it so it is a nice bright white again. I'm assuming it would be the same process as bleaching rock.
