Hey all,

I am going to be setting up my tank very soon, was wondering how caribsea southseas dry rock is, that is if I get a mixture of that and live fiji rock, about a 50/50 mix.....

Also, I'm looking for a decent sand, nothing too coarse or too thin, any suggestions?

The sand doesn't have to be live.

heylauren,

I would go with a blend of fiji pink (caribsea code 052) and Special grade reef sand (CS code #050). Both codes are 40lb bags. - however much you need, I'd blend it 50/50.

if you decide to go with dry caribsea rock, I'd go with their reef rock, not the south seas base as its a little less porous.

Hope this helps,

House

Oh man, I already ordered the aragamax oolite from Foster's and smith earlier today! If I saw this before I ordered, I would've probably went your route!

I'm going to rinse the oolite out real well and hope i don't get any sandstorms. Could I rinse it out under tap and after it's drained just put it in the display?

I sent you PM back, thanks!
