Spears protein skimmer any good?

Hey, I'm thinking about buying a new spears protein skimmer with a sedra ksp-5000 pump. Any good? I tried a google search, but got nothing helpful.

If its good how much would you pay? It looks new but it's missing a couple PVC parts that I can pick up at home depot

Great skimmer. You'll be very happy with it. Reef Dynamics makes awesome products.

Just be prepared to wait unless you get one off a shelf it could take up to 6 weeks to get it(worth the wait though)

Yea? Are they easy to set up? Or get parts? I'm getting it new with missing a few pvc parts for the same price of an new reef octopus nwb200

Same as any skimmer to setup. You'll need to email him to get parts but I don't think it'll be too terribly hard to get what you need.

for what they want for it get the vertex in180, it is basically the exact same thing, btw what size tank will this be used on

It will be going in Ruffly 105 total water volume. 75 main 30g sump

then you actually might have 75g total water, dont forget sand and rock take up space, and the in180 will be too much skimmer for that size tank
