First post / refugium advice

Hello all,

I am new to Manhattan reefs and I am looking for some advice on my refugium setup. I just picked up a refugium measuring 25?15?15 from The Custom King.

My question is , I currently have a 10 gallon DIY refugium , can I use the live sand currently in this tank and just swap it to the new refugium ? Thanks

I would say yes most definitely and I'd recommend it. I would be careful not to stir up the sand too much while ur tank is running and possibly a quick saltwater rinse before putting it into the new sump.

If you can avoid stirring, I would keep it. But since that looks almost impossible, I would use new sand, and seed it by putting only a cup of sand from the old refugium.
