I previousely posted a thread about my skimmer, and was wondering if it was doing the job. I have a 135gallon reef with a 38gallon sump. I originally installed an AquaC EV 180 with a mag 7 pump installed. ANd I've been getting about a cm of thick skimmate twice a week out of it. Ive tried everything I could to increase its output...but alas nothing has worked.

So the question is...what would u guys (and girls) recommend as a kick-ass skimmer for a 135 gallon??? Im going to install it under the tank but outside the sump (I have a large refug going in the sump that I dont want to disturb). Thanks for the suggestions! \

Oh...and I'm so sorry I missed the texax holem last night! ANd I live on Staten Island! I was on call at the hospital and just couldnt get away. But glad u guys had fun!

Aqua C is a great group of folks. If you're on the upgrade prowl, I would undoubtedly, wallet allowing, go with a recirculating euro reef and if not a recirculating, still deep in the wallet, a deltec.

I'm in the market for one as well....I think I may go with a recirc. model to quench my thirst!

Albert,

Thanks for the link and mention -

Micko, yes we do offer MR members discounts on the bermuda Aquatics skimmers and are offering 10% discount for all members. If we get 5 or more, we'll be offering %15

See this thread, and Alhra's interest as well - we may be on the verge of a group buy and an increase in discount if we can do it. I would say if we get close (4) we'll likely offer the %15

If you want my advice for your system, I would recommend you take a look at the BPS-5c here - that is what we will be running on our 150g holding system with the recommended sedra pumps.

Again, if we can get the interest, we'll have a GB and larger discount.

Hope that helps

House

Well Im now eyeing the ASM G4-X. It seems to be a great, reasonably priced skimmer. THe only issue i think i have is....it has to be installed in the sump. I have a large sump but its all being used for a large refug, with a deep sand bed and lots of macroalgae growing. SO i would have to figure out a way of dropping it in the sump without having it suck in sand.
