had a quick question as I?m starting a new tank 30g, I wanted to know if I was to use dead sand and dead rock from brs would I have to cure rock before putting it in the tank as you would live rock? Even if I?m using dr.tims or any other bacteria

It depends on which rock you get, the reef-saver rock they carry is pressure washed and according to them there is no curing time for it. Other rock they carry would need to be cured as there dried out organisms that will begin to decompose. Now, dr.tims bacteria will help you cycle faster as it provides the foundation for the bacteria to build up. If your not using reef-saver rock I would add the rock to the tank run it for few days, test to see if there are any spikes in ammonia and put dr.tims in. Since there will/might be a natural spike you will not need to add the dr.tims ammonium chloride to feed the bacteria. Regarding dead sand, I would worry about curing it.
