Just went to turn off my lights and saw a little crab on my acropora. I reminded myself I only use hermit crabs and snails , then asked myself what's he doing.....
He was feasting on my acro! I thought I gave him a good rinse in fresh saltwater but this little guy must've held on tight.
This is why I don't put more than any 1 thing in at a time

Lesson learned !

They come in a variety of colors white, red, pink....and if it looks like the one in the picture he's deff a good thing to have with your acros.
From what I read over time is that they may be one of the reasons why wild collected acros do not have pest on them. They actually clean the corals of pest.

giving a rinse of fresh saltwater wont do anything to your acros before you put it in your tank. Always make sure you dip and shake to get in between all the nooks and crannys, as well as a turker baster. blasting them with dip water. Hope its a acro crab if it is then well done they are our friends. so if he is a bad one flush him or post him for free someone might want him. good luck!

No he was definitely a gorilla crab. I had the piece he was on in a gallon of tank water while I did my research. Thank god I sit and stare at my tanks at random times throughout the day. Everybody reported significant damage from him.
