New tank set up?

Hello I've been in the hobby for only around 4-5 months as all you guys out there know how addicting this hobby is I finialy got my Red Sea max running excellent with no fatalitys and decided to drill my 29 gallon and add a sump.I bought a a bunch of live rock from one of the members on the site and it was live and running in his tank I immediately put into salt water with power heads and seen lots of little white stars and live snails so my question is I set up the 29 gallon tank with some live left over sand and about 35-40 pounds of live rock and a hang on filter with filter pad from my cycled tank and tested the water the following day and is it possible that all my water readings are good as if the tank was cycled?
