I should have given more info: I have a standard 55g tank and stand. The internal dimensions of the stand would only allow a tank less than 11 inches wide - basically, two standard ten gallon tanks.
So my sump now is one 10 gallon tank. Eventually I'll add another 10g as a refugium.
Space is limited, so a "normal" footprint skimmer would leave really no room at all for a return area with enough space for power-off drainage and evaporation.
The JNS WS1 has a really really small footprint. Only other one I found that really came close were the Tunze DOC skimmers, and I found more mixed reviews there.
Sorry about my delayed response. I have the JNS skimmer in question. It's a good skimmer but I wouldn't run it on anything larger than 35 gallons or so. Unless you're lightly stocked.
Super Reef Octopus sss been running these for more than 4 years only ever had one issue with a impeller and they not only gave me a new impeller they gave me a whole new pump plus if I ever have a issues there just a phone call or email away....plus these skimmers are beast when it come to skimming if downgrade or upgrade I would still be running a sro
