I would like to hear your experience with Aquaculture SPS vs Mariculture SPS. Reading mix reviews on Mariculture not having success as Aquaculture. Would like to hear your success or failure. From coloring up or not coloring up. Also STN prone to Mariculture. I have bought 4 SPS small colony's and had to cut than but all live and growing. They are Acropora with a lot of encrusting but slow growing upwards and colors not the best. Seem pretty hardy once settle in. Hear ORA takes years to sale than. Because they foot print gets better after growing and regrowing them. Like to hear your experience if any.

Coral colonies coming from the ocean are alway more difficult to keep color. Much more easy and predictable with tank raised pieces with lineage. In my current system I have a 50/50 mix of wild and tank raised SPS. Colors and growth are good on both types.

Mariculture sps are definitely harder to keep for long term. I find they do great usually for the first 3-6 weeks. Then it's like a box of chocolates.
The best are frags that comes from healthy colonies from some of our MR members.

ORA SPS are amazing. I have what I would call a dirty reef and I can only keep Digis and montis. At first any acro I tried was maricultured and died. Than I tried some ORA and they did amazing. I now have a lot of ORA acros and they are doing great. Aquacultured holds their color better, grows faster, and is overall easier to keep.

Might as well throw in wild collected in there as well. Maricultured are wild yes but they are harvested and kept in a few feet of water till they are ready to be shipped. I find the Australian wild pieces do better in my tank then Bali or indo and I don't even bother with maricultured anymore
