I think I've got the HOB1, it's the one rated for one cube of frozen per day. My tank and sump are about 130 gallons altogether.

As others have noted, it's just about nutrient export. You need to choose scrubber or chaeto, I don't run GFO.

Do you have it set up in your sump or in your display since you can do either?

I use ATS that I have made for my tanks and they work great , I dont use carbon or GFO my nitrate and phos are very low .I have a 50 gal with 10 gal sump and have about 12 fishes and also do a 5 gal water change every week.
