Hello everyone, I have a quick question and was hoping i could get some feedback. I have a 90 Gallon tank which i've had for a few months and recently added a powder blue tang to my tank and he is now covered in ich. I have an old 29 gallon sitting around which i used for freshwater and was wondering if it would be a good idea to set up a QT tank and if so how would i go about doing that.

If you have more than just the PBT in the 90 than QTing only the PBT would essentially be a waste. You would have to remove all fish from the display for what you feel is an acceptable amount of time to let it sit fallow. I let mine sit for 10.5 fish-less, and since than haven't had a sign of Ich after reintroducing my Achilles and Tomini several weeks ago.

If you have more fish you would most likely need a larger tank, a 55/40 breeder would probably be a good size for that amount of time. Rubbermaid tubs that are of decent size would be good as well.

Setting up a QT would depend on the method you are going to be using. I've used Hypo and Tank Transfer and liked both. I am not a fan of Copper. Tank Transfer would require two sets of equipment for QT and a lot more involving but is also much more effective.
