Let me give my backround in the game. Been in the hobby for the last four years and have owned and ran multiple nano tanks with great success, soft to sps, I was able to propagate and just have limited to no issue minus the occasional over flow on the carpet:thrash:

I knocked down my nano and moved over my softies and I'm having trouble (zoas/ yuma), they're like half open. I know these specific corals need to acclimate to new light but I already was running an LED (Kessil350w). But the confusing part is I have a plate coral and elegance on the bottom and they're doing great and I also have both types of blasto up 1/3rd the way from the bottom and they too are doing great.

*Kessil was running at 100% blue and 40% white 12in from the water

Anyway I'm having issues with my system. I am already running a large skimmer (BSM 150) which pulls a stinky goo (AWESOME) and a gfo reactor, but everyday I have a lot of brown dust on the glass which is unavoidable yes, but I shouldn't be having to clean it daily.
I also have the return from the reactor pour on top of a hanging bag of carbon. The algae dust on the glass is thick daily, why ?

To me it's either : the light is too strong, I have ai sol blues running 30/70/100 12in-15in off the water.

or

I need to add more ferric oxide in the reactor, I'm already running BRS's top notch at the recommended amount per their calculator. They do recommend to add more as you need.

tell me SOMETHING :iamwithst

So it sounds like you're looking to solve 2 problems. Zoo's not fully open and large amounts of algae/diatoms daily on the glass.

How long has it been since you set up your new tank? Did you bring sand from the display/sump over to the new tank? If so, how do you do it? Lots of nasty's in the sand bed and was thinking that maybe that's the root of your issues.

Ah Yes it seems so, but one solved problem will answer the other.

No I have a BB tank, I do not condone extra maintenance:lovestory

The tank has been running since September and I let that sucker cycle til I received the green light from testing.

i would do a full water check at first, if you see something off. then do a water change see if anything happens within a few days. change media if needed and filter socks if ran. then if you see no change, dont no how long of a photo period your doing but if its a long one maybe cut back or raise your lights alittle.

if i didnt miss anything while reading, maybe if you dont have a bunch of zoas already encrusted on the rocks. take what ever out nd give them either a iodine dip or a coralRX dip for 5-6minutes, rinse put in tank. just incase cause if its only happening too zoas might be a bacteria problem with them.

UPDATE, the Zoas are opened, not the same richness in color but then again I only get to see them when the lights are ramping down so ... My Ric's are on the very bottom, maybe I raise them up.
