I've been out of the hobby for a few years. My father gave me his tank for free. It's 90 gallon 48 long 24 tall. He had it setup for freshwater, but I want to DO salt water with corals some fish. He was using a fluval 404, can I use this canister filter? I've always built my own sumps but There's no holes drilled in the tank. I was thinking about building a sump with a refugium. Minds all over lol.
Any recommendation on protein skimmers? Also need to look into lights. I see led lights are popular now.
Thanks

If you want to add a sump, you can do it with an over flow box, then you don't need to use the Fluval 404.

If it's a fish only tank, then the Fluval 404 will be fine, but if you plan on doing corals, then you should go with the just the sump.
