How frequently do you do water changes?

Just wondering how frequently other saltwater fish caretakers do water changes?

I'm also wondering if this frequency very different for people like me who in a way are breaking in new tanks. My tank today is 10 weeks old.

I was doing weekly changes, but some people who are helping me, suggest I do them (and about around 30% only) every two weeks and even possibly a whole month?

It has to do with the bacteria colonies that I want to develop in their having enough time to duplicate?


I'm also wondering how do others gravel vac their saltwater aquariums, and which battery gravel vacs are good?

10% every 2-3 weeks. Every tank is different and depending on what is in your tank. Beginning you need it frequently because your good bacteria is not as mature. You can get away with it longer as time goes by based on parameters.
