Nitrate problem

Hey guys thank you for the help in advance. so before i get right into it I have 180gallon tank that has been running for about 2+ years. I have zoa and few torch leather coral some sps coral and mushrooms and 4 clown fish 4 damsel 2 yellow tangs 1 purple tang and big sailfin tang shoal tang. everything is healthy and my results are.
PH is 8.0-8.1 Nitrite 0ppm calcium 420-440 Ammonia is 0.25 ppm and Nitrate is 40-80 please help.

40-80? Which test kit are you using that your getting a fluctuate in results that wide?

Not like you have too many fish so not overstocked

- feed less
- increase water change frequency/volume
- skim more efficiently
- include substrate siphon in maintenance routine
- carbon dose (BIOPELLET, vodka)
- de-nitifiers

I'd also test your source water (RODI) to be safe and suggest testing your tank same time every day as you move through these considerations.

Try a Marine Pure Bio media 4"x8" Brick in your sump. It's excellent at denitrifying water.

How long would it take before it starts effecting everything in my tank? I started dozing the tank and haven't been feeding my fish now thanks all for help guys
