not really sure but it looks like your gsp is just growing

Looks like a sponge, I wouldn?t think much of it, other than it possibly growing and smothering your GSP,just take a nice razor to cut it off and toothbrush to scrub the remainder off, but try to do it in a small bowl outside your tank since the small broken pieces can possibly regrow.

Don?t see the white except for glue/cement to anchor in place on rock
