Hey Guys,
im interested in setting up a nano tank and i was wondering if anyone would give me some input.
i was looking at getting a 24g aquapod,a bio cube or something similar.
Does anyone think that the 150W HQI aquapod is worth the money or should i get the 70w or just get the pc.. i see alot of post saying that these will be eventually modded and i noticed the hqi has an open top.. anyone input would be greatly appreciated
thanks

If you have the money and you don't want to do many mods, your best bet is the new Finnex 30G, or even the Red Sea all in one. When it comes to nano's the initial investment is not as large as with the monster tanks, so you are better off getting the best you can, that way you can enjoy your tank for many years to come. And when you start getting corals.... my $.02 is that you should get small frags... that is how I started and I have a jungle in my lil 12G
Anyone wants some pulsating xenia? :)

Quality of item. The built in filter is better and has an option to light the fuge and an option for a fuge itself. Open top. alot of nice things. also you can upgrade to MH without removing the top. I dunno, the impression on the product itself is that the people that made it arent looking to make things cheap and cut corners but instead make a quality item. JBJ and aquapod are just big plastic fishbowls.

If you like the Finnex design, you should also look at cadlights' tanks. A big difference in Finnex is acrylic (light, clear, but scratches) and cadlights are glass. I've read mixed opinions on the skimmer the Finnex tanks come with, but their light selections are excellent. Cadlights also has nice choices in lighting, and offer selection of either a full refugium or a small overflow with a return pump and space for chemical media. Both can be bought with or without a glass (? Finnex) top if you want. Premium Aquatics is a good source for Finnex tanks, and cadlights.com sells direct. I have an AP with 150W MH, and if I were buying this size tank again, I'd probably go with cadlights.

Email Finnex. they are pretty good with replies and will tell you exactly where to get them. and if they have glass ones still available. I spoke to them around november and said after xmas they were releasing the new glass tanks for the 30g.

Yeah the skimmer works but its not the best. Probably the only upgrade. and the refugium you will have to convert from the skimmer chamber i think. Premium aquatics used to have it on their site but its not there now.

I'm also in the market for a nano and up until this post I was pretty convinced about the AP 24g, but now that i see this 22g/25g from CADlights im blown away...

I'm actually now thinking of getting the 22g it looks amazing!! The entire setup is perfect and I like how there is a return flow to the side of the tank..Even the included lights fit perfect to the tank....Everything looks pretty professional even though I've never heard of this company before...
