Live sand

I just purchased a 144 gallon tank and read on another post that someone with a similar size tank is using live sand and "vfs sand" or "svf sand" or something like that. I replied to his thread with that question, but did not recieve an answer.

Because of the high cost of live sand I was wondering about what he was talking about and where I can get some.

Any help is appreciated.

Ask some of the fine members here to give you a cup or so of there sand, it will seed your "vfs sand" or "svf sand"?

I believe a 50lb bucket is $40.

It's not live on purchase, but it will eventually be.

Sand from a established tank will seed it, and it will have life.

I looked up ESV sand and found it in Brooklyn, which I can possibly get a ride to (shipping must be very expensive) and buy 3-4 buckets at $28/each and seed it with some good live sand.
