My tank is going on 2 years. I have been battling Lyngbya Bacteria which I think it is anyway. I added chemiclean week ago just did a water change so perhaps this stressed out Acro?
it can be million reason why acros die. sometimes one can just RTN for no reason. New Corals will RTN from stress, temp swing, dip too long, Not dipping, too much light, too little light etc....
few questions.
tank size?
Alkalinity
calcium
magnesium
Ammonia?
nitrate?
phosphate?
what are you dosing?
what lights?
If you have a small tank? it can be parameter swings that cause them to die. I wish there is a simple answer.
Best advice do large water change for next few weeks. Stop all chemical dosing. worse come to worse. stop and reboot.
It's finally here! Thanks to @dave57 for asking us to double check some AI Hydra26 and Hydra52 settings that he found. Not only did I check those numbers from THIS POST but I also checked the settings we used on the Prime to see if they were comparable. Check out what I found!
Don’t change your lights go from 20% UV to AB+ 117% UV over night. You will cook your corals. Set each channel (or download the file). MAKE SURE you enable acclimated over a month from 50%. Any changes must be done slowly.
Get a par reading.
So for those numbers you only select a certain time for those? I did download a file just now from someone but this looks different. You have selected time at 3:50PM which I am guessing is the highest intensity you have at that time.
Upload some picture of your corals with less blue light. I would like to see what you mean “my corals are dying”. Why do you think it is dying? New growth on corals are white.
Pm me with your phone number if you would like more help directly fro me.
All you need is 1 ramp up and one hour ramp down. 6hr at max AB+ if you like. You do not need 11hr of light.
My light goes on at 1:30pm and start to ramp down at 10pm. Lights out at 12-1pm depending on moon phase. My max intensity are from 6-10pm.
