I added two percula clowns and a green chromis to my reef tank three days ago, today I noticed one of the clowns mouths looks like it has two fat lips, with its mouth slightly open and whiteish. It's eating...doen't SEEM stressed and otherwise looks fine. Any thoughts or experience with this? :?

Nope.........wish I could help. My next major puchase will be a book about fish disease.

Sorry to hear about your clown. It's possible it's a physical injury that got infected. If it's eating and acting normally, I wouldn't worry too much about it as fish can be resiliant in a healthy environment.

I had a very similar sounding problem with some live-caught true perculas that I bought early on in my first tank. As time progressed, the inflamation/blockage around the mouth got worse, the fish got very lethargic, appeared to have trouble breathing and eating, and then finally passed away. Unfortunately, this happend twice in a very similar manner, with fish from independent stores. I always suspected some sort of disease, but it was very unclear, and I never found any disease ID that really matched what I saw.

The tank-raised true perculas that I got were very healthy from day one, and still continue to be.

Too late... :( . By the time I got home today the critters in the bottom of the tank were doing their part in the circle of life.....
