Live sand "makes" *pods the same way rotten meat make maggots.... someone gotta lay the eggs. Typically with LR, you will have some pods that will survive the curing process, and populate your tank in a few weeks. You just need to watch your tank carefully at night, and see if you can spot one or two crawling around.

Again, patience is the key, but swapping LR/LS with a matured tank often helps.

so ... whatever egg or larvae type form the pods take, that's not present in the live sand? only on LR?

Live sand is similar to LR when it comes to pods...Its all gonna depend on the sand too..

Just make sure you did not use the "live sand in a bag that expires after after 3 year" sand. I would get a scoup of sand from local reefer who got a nice pod population going on.

If you really want pods then go with LR...the sand more than likely carries pods, however LR will get you started IMO a lot quicker if you are after "pods"..
