Hey Davlima - welcome to Reefs.Org. :)

How you'll want to setup your tank depends on what you want to keep. Will you just be keeping fish? Will you be setting up a reef? If you're going to have a reef, what type of corals will you want to keep?

If you're going to setup a reef, I'd recommend getting live rock/live sand and a good skimmer. The canister filter will not be necessary for continuous use with that kind of setup, but it's useful to keep around for use on an as-needed basis.

Depends on the type of coral, you may want to read about the light requirement as well as the type of filter (Eheim 2028) is appropriate for your setup.

For the amount of salt, most aquarium salt will tell you how much you need given the capacity of your tank.
