Hey guys, my tank has been setup for a few weeks now, all of my water params are stable and the diatom bloom has ended, the sand bed is clear and there is only some diatoms left on some of the live rock...

The tank is 60" long x 12" high x 16" deep, it was custom built for reptiles and I got it for basically free, built a stand and canopy and am going to give it a shot! lol I think it would be pretty cool if it was succsessful... There is 65 pounds of Live rock and 10 pounds of sand.

Question #1: Could I keep all kinds of corals under 220 watts of PC lighting over 12" of water??? I was going to get halide but I think it would be a extreme over kill over such a shallow tank...

Question #2: What kind of fish could I keep in a tank this size?!?! I was thinking something up to as big as a clown or a flame angel would be okay?!? The tank is really long and 16" wide do there would be ample room for a fish of up to how long to swim around comfortably??? 6 inches maybe???

Question #3: any livestock suggestions would be awesome... I dont know what to get or what I could get... I would like to stray away from damsel type fish that look like freshwater... Something that looks a little more salt waterish... lol if you get what i mean!

Thanks guys for all of your help, here is a pic of the tank for some kind of idea about the size etc!!

thats how tall the tank actually is... LOL!! Its 4 feet long x 1 foot tall x 16 inches deep... its pretty cool! The rest of the thing you can see there is the canopy and stand... Here is a pic of the setup the last time I gave it a whirl before it ended in a electrical fire and lost everything!!

clowns would be fine as would other damsels that don't look too fresh waterish

i would also think that cardinals and firefish would be fine... maybe a royal gramma?

as for the lighting issue, if there is overkill in lighting oyu would be for from it with a few MH bulbs in there.

i am not a big fan of PCs because of the bulb cost, and VHO are great but still lack the full powerful effect that MH puts in the tank. if you haven't seen a side by side comparison please look into it before siding with the PC or VHO set up.

you can keep all kinds of corals with PC. you just need to have enough of it. i do think they will look better in a MH set up though. 'SPS' types need some intensity to thrive.

if you simply wish to keep them alive then i think you can be successful with the PCs

neat tank, BTW :)

Cool, thanks Pod!! :) I guess i also have to consider that i would need corals that wont get to long or to tall aswell... Maybe zoo's would be my best bet and some other stuff like open brains and those tongue corals... :) To many decisions to make!!! :D
