L liquid Advanced Reefer Rating - 0% 0 0 0 Oct 27, 2003 #2 Soft coral = corals like Nepthea, Anthelia, Green Star Polyps, Leathers, etc. They do not lay down a calcifying skeleton. LPS = "Large Polyped Stoney" corals. Corals like brains, frogspawn, bubble corals, etc. SPS = "Small Polyped Stoney" corals. Corals like Acropora, Hydophora, Seriatopora, etc. Mushrooms = Discosoma, Ricordea, Rhodactis, etc. Clams = Tridacnid species clams (Deresa, Gigas, etc). http://www.reefs.org/library/glossary.html Probably the best resource I can point you to would be Eric Borneman's Aquarium Corals book as it covers all of the major corals in the hobby. hth Shane
