live rock advice

I am caught between the decision of getting live rock from Florida or Fiji live rock from the LFS. As someone posted before, the florida live rock is heavier for the amount of surface area but didnt note any difference in quality. What are the experiences of others. Have you seen both sides that you can give a good comparison?

I feel you are refering to aquaculted live rock from FL. There are a few thread on RDO (reef.org) that show pics and opinion about the purchase, and you may want to take a look by seraching.

Generally, the buyers are satisfied by the FL rock, esp. if the buyers want to have a all-cultured tank setup.

I am going to order the live rock. This rock will be used to cycle my tank. I will most likely be putting the 2 damsels in another tank. Should I get the live sand now and put it in with the rock or should I wait until after my tank is cycled?

I would put the sand in first, then the rock, skip the
damsels, then cycle it. No need to torture damsels.
