I have had my tank running since Jan 1st 2004.. I have many coral, mushrooms, 5 fish etc.. here is my setup
73 gallon
CPR overflow
AquaC EV120 pulling from left side of sump and dumping into right side..
Mag9.5 pushing water back to Seaswirl wavemaker and into tank
The skimmer is not creating any foam.. at times the water level in the skimmer goes up by itself.. I dont know why..
What am I doing wrong here?

If you have tried everything mentioned in the instructions, you may want to contact the manufacturer

www.Proteinskimmer.com is the address I believe. They are most helpful

I agree. I had similar issues and they are helpfull. A few things with the aquaC:

-Make sure the water level is correct. My first guess would be that your pump is pushing too much water. If its a MAG5, they vary a bit and tend to slow down with time. Water should be slightly under the internal platform.

-Keep your hands out of the tank. The type of skimmer you own is particularly sensitive to oils in the water, etc. Your hands will kill the foam production for hours in most cases. feeding will do it too depending on what it is.

which pump are you using? maybe it is too powerful, if the water level is too high, it won't produce any foam. also make sure the outlet valve is completely open and not clogged up.

I had the EV120 in my sump and got rid of it after a couple of months because it sucks IMO, it is too finicky and it does not adjust well. I purchased a tunze 230/3 instead and have had excellent results. When I was running my EV120 I used a RIO 2500 on it upsized from the 2100 and had a decent foam production, though evaporation from the sump almost always causes the skimmer to go haywire. It would be a good idea to have an auto top off system in your sump to keep the water level constant for this skimmer in order for good foam production. Also, ibid eariler posts, whenever you get your hands in there, it is like making the skimmer inoperable for a couple of hours almost idefinately. Consider a Kent Marine Float for top offs or such to keep the skimmer operating. If the water level in your sump is changing a lot, you will always find the skimmer underproducing foam, or not producing it at all.

Good luck

Had the same trouble. Lower the collection cup and open the air intake valve at the end of the long tub. You'll be fine.

Good luck
