The Humble reef is looking good. Will add a skimmer on Thursday. Do I need to feed the Feather Dusters anything? When I add Invertabrates that will need to be fed should I turn the skimmer off during that prosses?
I asked the same question and was told that the feather dusters do not nee to be fed. I of course didn't listen abd fed mine phyto and they are doing good. How big is your tank? If youhave a small tank you may need to turn it off. I have a 90 Gallon and I don't turn anything off.
I turn everything off but the lights and always feed the fish in the same spot.If you leave the pumps on it tends to blow the food around before the fish have a chance to get to it.
I dont feed my feather dusters, directly...they do need to be fed..they are filter feeders but get enough from all the stuff in the water...i leave my pumps on cuz i want the food blown around..i want the food to end up on the bottom for my inverts...This is how i do things..my personal expierences, this doesnt mean this is the way to do it...HTH

I agree with LN. You should always leave your skimmer and pumps on to help maintain water quality and to help feed the filter feeders except when instructed to turn it off when using certain additives.
