Hi everyone,

I'm very new to the saltwater tank thing but am very knowledgeable with freshwater.

I have encountered Ick in my saltwater tank and I have been told to purchase something by the name of Greenex.

I have done this, but in my freshwater days, when I got ick in the tank, I'd turn the tank heat up to about 81 degrees and ick within a week would go on it's own with no chemicals.

DOes anyone know if this would work the same for a salt water tank?

Any and all feedback is appreciated as I'm not a huge fan of chemicals which will stain my tank blue.

Thank you.

Pamela

P.S. It's a small 10g tank with 1 clown, 1 sandsifter and 1 Gorgonian coral as well as a turbo snail. 50/50 light with just a biowheel filter.

I think that most here say use a QT to isolate, skip the chemicals and lower the salinity to approx. 1.0.1-1.012 for few weeks. From what I have read it lasts far longer in salt water than freshwater.

Quarantine Tank :) I think if you put the chems in that tank you will kill all but the fish. You could get a cheapo starter tank for like $20 at walmart
