Dose it depend on the type or should they open right away? I just added my 2nd coral and it was all closed up when I got in from the LFS @ 3PM yesterday took about 30-45 min to acclamate it to the tank. Then for a while the fish poked at it here and there being something new, lights were on till 9PM-ish then back on this AM @ 7AM They are still closed up as of now.

Green Star Polyp...

Give it a few more days... - Many consider this to be almost like a weed.. - You may want to change placement as this is encrusting and you will find it soon overtaking the nearby rocks.

If it were me, I'd place it near smaller rocks instead and use that piece there as a "mother" colony, allowing it to encrust smaller rocks and then "frag" those off. That's just me though, you may want a tank full of the stuff instead...

-- It's perfectly normal for GSP to take a few days to open back up.. - Just give it time.

If you do a search on star polyp, you will see your concern is not unique. It is not unheard of to see GSP closed up for weeks at a time, without specific reason. That's what it does sometime, and nothing to be concerned about unless you have other problem with parameter.
