I was wondering if anyone has bought "pure caribbean aragonite" from purearagonite.com and if so were you happy with what was shipped to you. Also I just ordered a glass 75 gal. ( predrilled w/overflow) and have a question about what size sump I should setup? I am designing and building the stand myself, so I have some room to work with. thanks for any help.

Welcome to RDO, Mrbill. I heard about purearagonite.com a few years ago, but never have any experience with it. Basically, if i remember correctly, they sell South Down sand. Check to see if you local HomeDepot sell it, it will be much cheaper than if you order it online.

As for the sump, anything between 20 gal to 40 gal is usual. It really depends on the dimension of the stand and your own preference. For me, my equipement is so disorganized that there is no room under the stand. My sump is right next to the main tank, and I have lots of room for it. YMMV.

The larger the sump, the better :)

I don't believe Pure Aragonite is the same as South Down. The Pure Aragonite sand I've seen look a lot cleaner then SD. I think it's essentially the same as Caribsea, and from what I've been told, all these aragonite sands are mined from the same area. Caribsea has more grain sizes to choose from.
