I have 2 percula clowns, firefish gobie, 2 peppermint shrimp and a coral banded shrimp. Will they feed on the bunch of copods I have running around my tank? They breed like rabbits, I have a regular copod baby factory going on. Just wondering if the live stock I have will feed on them?

Your livestock aren't the type to hunt the substrate for pods. A lot of pods isn't a bad thing to have, mind you. But if you really wanted them eaten, something like a sixline wrasse will do the job :)

Actually Len just to clarify, A. perculas in the wild feed on primarily algae but also Copepods and Firefish on mainly Copepods and Isopods; but they like you said will not put much of a dent in an aquarium as they readily eat other prepared foods. :)

TRY A MANDARIN DRAGON THEY THRIVE ON COPEPODS!!

Please don't unless you have a big system that can support these animals long term not short term.

Bob Fenner writes this in the www.wetwebmedia.com website (very good info hidden throughout that site)

Whatever other writers have stated, Mandarins almost never accept enough of anything other than live foods that are omnipresent in their system to sustain themselves. A nutrient rich live rock reef tank, read that as one heavily populated with hard substrates, with substantial interstitial crustacean and worm, and other small sessile invertebrate life of about 100 gallons will support one individual. And this assumes you have no similar food-competing tankmates.

Your 110g with 120lb LR should be adequate.

sorry everyone, I called them copods but I thing there actually amhipods.
They run around the rock and really like to come out at night. Would this make any difference?
