I'm thinking of having the following custom made canopy for my 55 gal reef tank.
tank is 24" deep 48" wide and currently has 2- 65 watt 10, 000K Power Compact and 2- 65 watt Power Compact actinics blue total 256 watts
The question is:
Is it possible to have too much light in the tank?
Lighting specs are as follows:
48"W X 11" x 4" H
2- 250 watt HQ 20,000K Metal Halides
2- 65 watt Power Compact Actinic bulbs
2- 36 Watt PC 10,000K Power Compact bulbs
2- 4 inch fans
Total wattage 702 watts
This would be 12.8 watts per gallon for my 55 gallon tank.
I'm not taking into account water displacement from the live rock (aprox 115 lbs.)
Anybody have an idea?
your comments are greatly appreciated!
