:?

Ok, Mushroom coral was looking good yesterday and to days ago. Today it kind of looks flat and wrinkled. It was standing up tall yesterday real pretty like. I'm putting calcium once a week, should I put more? Can you OD the calcium? What to do?

Thanks Brad

Mushroom coral does not need calcium. Yes you can OD calcium levels, are you testing the level of CA? You do want some CA to encourage corralline algae growth, your ph though needs to be closely monitored when adding CA. FWIW, I only add a small amount of Iodine for my mushrrom tank. Definetly check your ph and salinity level. Mushrooms do go through phases of shriveling/spreading, depending on how happy they are.

Forgot to ask what type of lighting you have as well, they do not like high intensity light in most cases.

I would add that I recommend against adding anything to the tank you don't or can't test for.

What kind of lighting? The tall posture is usually when the shroom is trying to get to light.

It seems to me that mushrooms go through phases. Maybe you should give them a little time and they will be just fine. IMO

You don't have a lot of water current over them do you? I moved a powerhead one time, it hit the shrooms and they shriveled up for days until I figured out what the problem was.
