Mushroom is a good starter soft coral. There are lots of variety, and majority of them are easy to take care of, demanding nothing but appropriate lighting and water change, without the need for calcium, additives or specific feeding..

I have a similar tank setup (29g/Prizm/35lb LR) and started out with a green finger leather coral. Very low maintenance as they don't require any special feedings or lighting.

I started out with a twin tube flourescent strip setup with reef/actinic bulbs (32 watts?) and had no problems with my finger leather. However, I've recently upgraded to VHO lighting to accommodate other corals.
