I have just got the live sand and rock for my new aquarium. I have looked through web sites and have gotten confused about what invertabrate I should get to keep the detritus from building up. Please help me make the right decision!
Rich, Brad here don't have a real educated answer, but have a thought. I've been looking in Dr. foster and Smith's catalog were they sell a package of invertabrates. With this package they also tell what each animal does for your tank. I'm just getting started in this hobby so you can take my comment for what it's worth. I figure if their selling it, it must have some value to it. Good luck.
Sepent/brittle stars, assorted snails and an emerald crab would do fine. I also like hermit crabs, but a lot of people don't. Don't listen to the 1 per gallon thing on those websites. In my 29 gallon I have 11 assorted hermits and about 20 snails, 2 small brittles and 1 emerald crab. Cucumbers are risky, but I bought one anyway.
