I've used the pump/ head loss calc. to try and determine the size pump I need for a 58g RR tank.
I was not sure what the results meant.
I entered info based on a Mag 9
Here's the results
Total losses are 6.84 feet of head pressure, or 2.96 PSI. with a flow rate of 656 GPH-
Does this mean that if I use this pump, I'll get a turn over rate of 11x for my tank? Is that enough?

Thanks
Alan

I don't know which calculator you're referring to, but it is probably missing three more items:
(1) Diameter of the pipe
(2) Number of elbows/bends
(3) Length of pipe
If the calculator allows for those, then, the calculation of 656 gph a 6.8 ft of head is probably correct. If the calculator does not give you options for pipe diameter, length, and elbows, then, the 656 figure is an overestimate.

It's the calculator On Reef Central,
yes it does allow for all those factors.
So the 656 gph is the net output for the Mag 9.
Therefore it would be the right pump for what I want to do? Correct?

Thanks
Alan
