put a small star polyp in two weeks ago

was fine for two weeks, actually looked like it grew a bit during that timeframe

now it has disappeared (not opening up at all) for 48 hours

Any thoughts?

Took readings yesterday, no ammonia, no nitrite, small nitrate.

water change yesterday (10% of total, 220g tank), still not opening today

thanks for any help

I was hoping to move towards some other softies over the next 2 months or so based on the star polyp's progress. looks like i am headed the wrong way

tank is 8 weeks old
220g
250lbs live rock
200 lbs live sand
5 damsels
3 clowns
1 naso tang
1 goby
1 real healthy cleaner shrimp
2 real healthy big hermits

When I added some GSP to my tank it didnt open for about a week then slowly opened more and more over the next 2 weeks. I have herd that when they close up like that they might be growing.

Assuming your temp, pH, salinity, etc. are OK I wouldn't get too concerned just yet. Give it a week or so and see how things go...
