Need help, regarding the web look a like on my liverock, dont know, what it is?can someone help me out to explain and how to clear it and whether is it harmful to the fishes and corals? :(

i dont have a digital camera now, but the web cover my LR, even the black crab is not spare, what i scare is that, if i were to put coral in, then wil be covered also.someone told me that its because of part of the LR has die, and thats y?is this true?

yes that might be it. when did you set the tank up and when did you put the live rock in? right when you put it in, a bunch of stuff on the live rock will die off. this is due to the life forms on the rock being stressed from the shipping process, waiting in the store and finally needing to be acclimatized to your tank's conditions. the web you describe could be dead matter, fungal organisms, small creatures or one of several types of algae. keep doing the best you can and your tank will probably calm down

make sure you are doing lots of water changes regularly. it's important to keep the water clean if your live rock is still curing (going through the process of having stuff die off of it from shipping). also, have you been testing your water parameters?

yes its true, its abt a week now, since i set up, but only 2 days ago i just changed the water and yesterday saw some of the web is gone, but my nitrate is still high, is this normal?must i make water changes again?
