It's one of a couple and it's personally the one I use. I've been using mine going on 3 years now and I've never had a problem with it. Many of our sponsors (link at top of the page) carry them. There's also AquaFX as well.
im just looking for a really good model that can output at least 100gpd. I am willing to pay for quality. i hate to use soemthing spending like 100 dollars for it and it break on me.

There is not many differences among various RO filters if the specs is true and comparable. What distinguish SpectraPure, IME, is their excellent customer service. They may be a few bucks more, but it is worth every penny when you have problem, and be able to call the techs who really know what they are talking about.
I've beeen really happy with my 35gpd spectrapure. They are all pretty much the same, I wouldn't be suprised if they all come from the same place at some point in the chain.
I might point out that for a 150g tank, you don't really need a 100 gpd filter. All you should really need is enough to keep the tank topped up from evaporation.
Having a filter with less output makes filling the tank initially a bit slower, but otherwise its fine.
But, if your tank crashes it's going to take you a long time to get enough water to do an adequate waterchange to get things back in line. The longer that takes, the less likely stuff will make it thru the crash.
Spectrapure make some of the best units you can buy. I still have a old kent RODI but all the cartridges and the membranes have been replaced with spectrapure ones everytime. The also individually test their spectraselect line of membranes for flowthru and rejection rate.
