Currently I have a durso set up in my tank. It is an 1 1/4" at the top reducing thru a 1" bulkhead then back to a 1 1/4" ( Yea I know should of had the tank drilled bigger) thru 90deg bend, thru 1 1/4" ball valve, another 90deg bend and into a filter sock in sump.
The problem I am haveing is the water level keeps bouncing up and down causeing not a sucking noise but just a variable noise from my overflow drop. On the website it says that the reason for this is the down pipe is too long. But no matter what size I put the down pipe it still does it. Now granted the longer the downpipe the longer the stroke, as of right now I have no down pipe on at all, just a 90 off the tee. Please see attachment for layout. It still does it. My wife is all over my A@# right now about the noise. So could someone help me with my domestic utopia?
Thanks
Bob
