OK. Just found another major snag in my whole aquarium - sump setup plan. Everyone probably already knows this, and I feel like an idiot, but pretty much every tank I planned on using as my sump probably wont fit into the front of the cabinet. I'm guessing the only tank that will fit would be a 10G, way too small for what i wanted to do. I was planning on a 30G tank down there at least.

To top it off, I know that there are some Oceanic stands that have tops to them (ABS Black, Maple, Stainless are a few of them where I've seen tops), so you cant get the sump in through the top either.

The tank I was planning was an Oceanic 75G with a black oak stand. They dont actually have the stand for me to look at. Does anyone have any experience with the Oceanic Oak stands. Do these have tops to them?

And then, what about the whole 'working on the sump' issue? Even if I put this sump into the stand through the top, I'll never be able to get it out again. Do any of you take yours out for maintenance? Or should I just go for it and hope nothing goes wrong in there.

Sheesh. This is crazy. One thing after another.

This is why I build my own stand, with removable panels to take anything out if necessary.

A common mistake is having a sump skimmer that is too tall to have the cup removed for draining...
