Frozen live rock

Ok well I had some rock shipped to me and I was told that he had just shipped rock to NY (I am in Mass) and he had no problems with it getting to cold....well sure enough I got the rock and it was well frozen! I rinsed it in warm water and put it in a tank with a skimmer and PH. Now what should I expect from this rock? Is it not pretty much base rock? Is there any chance ANYTHING survived?

Some bacteria might have... as far as inverts, I would doubt that very much.

he had no problems with it getting to cold....

So the shipper sent it to the wrong address? And then said even though it froze the rock should still be fine?

Doesn't sound good to me....

No he had sent some to his brother in NY and had no problems with it freezing. Sorry I should have said that better
