Problem with Anenome

We just purchased a Sebae anenome from the LFS with a symbiotic clown fish, and the LFS suggested to allow the anenome to crawl onto a rock that it prefered by placing it where a rock met the sand. We've tried this many times only to have the end result being the anenome flipped upside-down and blown around by the current. How can we get it to stick to a rock. I don't think gluing it to a rock is an option. Any suggestions?

you should try placing him in an area of low current so that he can get attached to the substrate, from there he will move around until he's happy.

...by the way, I've seen this behavior in anemones that were not properly acclimated. please ensure that he is not in shock and that your tank parameters are correct.

... or maybe: put the powerheads off until the anenome can attach it self to somethig. No need for gluing. G.L.

Anemones have amazing sticking powers/abilities. If it's not sticking, that means it's not happy. The issues to be first concerned with are water quality/parameters, then lighting.

In other words.. you can lead an anemone to rock, but you can't make it stick!
