Hello everyone. We have a 120 gal set up, salt added, and circulating. We hope to aquire and add the LR & LS this Saturday. Are the tiny air bubbles circulating around normal for this stage? Is it a good thing?
I haven't tested for everything yet, but will by tonight (kits are on my shopping list for today.)
How's that for a newbie question? :D

Great site!!

It is not a bad thing, but you need to find out where the bubble come from, can be an issue with plumbing or powerhead in the wrong position....

Oh, BTW, welcome to RDO!

Usually new setups and equipment will produce a lot of tiny bubbles in the first few weeks due to suffocants. Once these surfaces break in, the bubbles should lessen. But as ck mentioned, you should also try to locate the source of the bubbles. It's usually the skimmer or the plumbing. Does your tank have a sump?

Thanks for the tips. Yes, we have a sump and have raised the water level about 1/2 inch (easier said than done!) Apparently, the level was a bit too low and the pump was creating a little cyclone.
Assuming water readings are good, is it okay to go ahead and add the LR & LS as planned?

Thanks for the welcomes, too.

IMO as long as your salinity and temp is good I would say sooner the better to start your cycle. The sooner you start the sooner it will be over. The rest of your prams are all going to go haywire anyway thru cycle.
