OK

Got some Hairy Mushroom Coral, two big pieces died and fell off the rock, damn what caused that? My button Polyp and Colony Polyp are doing well real spread out over sizable rock, how should I go about feeding so everyone gets a piece of food? Been just blasting the immediate area with zooplankton. Kind of ticked off about the Hairy Mushroom would really like a guess at what happend.

Thanks
Brad

Not sure what happened with your mushroom - they're generally very hardy, but not every coral will do well in every tank...

As for supplemental feeding - IME you really don't have to target feed mushrooms or polyps. They seem to get what they need from fish feedings, etc.

I have 2 colonys of polyps and I have been sucessful feeding both of them by target feeding them with a mix of micro vert, small frozen brine, and marine flake(allmixedtogether) and I just squirt it on real close like and slowly with an infant squirter thing and they eat it and close up for awhile than they open back up.I do it 2 times a week and have noticed signifigant growth over the last 2 months when I started doing it,I used to just flood the tank with the micro vert but who knows if they got anyor if I was over doing it.THIS WORKS WELL FOR ME!! Ihope this helps :D

The only mushroom I really want to stimulate to grow is Ricordea, and for that I extended a turkey baster with a long piece of pvc so I don't have to stick my hand in the water so often.
